Wine Characteristics

The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico ‘Giuseppe Campagnola’ offers a richness of aromas and flavors, ideal for the most demanding consumers. The grapes used for its production come from vineyards located in the historic areas of Valpolicella Classica, thus ensuring the typicality and authenticity of the territory.

This wine is made from a blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone Veronese, and Rondinella grapes. The grapes are left to dry in special crates for about 100 days from the end of September to obtain a higher concentration of sugars, aromas, and polyphenols.

The result is an intense red wine characterized by complex aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and floral notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with soft tannins and aromatic persistence, perfect for convivial moments and quality gastronomic pairings.

Available Formats

Cantina Campagnola offers the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico in a variety of formats to meet the needs of different market segments. In addition to the 750ml bottle, there are also smaller formats of 375ml and larger ones of 1.5 liters available with customized wooden packaging.

Winemaking

The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico ‘Giuseppe Campagnola’ wine is produced in full respect of tradition. The grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked. Great attention is paid to detail in all stages of production. After harvesting, the grapes are placed in a ventilated environment for natural drying, during which they lose about 35-40% of their original weight. During this phase, a natural concentration of sugars and aromas occurs, giving the wine its typical complexity and structure.

After the drying process, the grapes are pressed to obtain the must, which ferments slowly at a controlled temperature for at least three weeks.

Subsequently, the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico is aged in Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques for at least two years. This long aging period helps develop the wine’s personality and elegance, ensuring a high-quality and long-lasting product.

Gastronomy

Thanks to its complex structure and enveloping character, the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico ‘Giuseppe Campagnola’ is well-suited for refined gastronomic pairings. It is the ideal companion for grilled or braised red meats, roasts, game, and aged cheeses.

Its intense flavor and balance make it excellent to drink on its own or with friends during moments of relaxation. Moreover, its versatility makes it suitable to be served throughout the meal, from appetizers to desserts, appealing even to the most discerning palates.

Grappa of Amarone Barricata

In addition to the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico, Cantina Campagnola also offers an elegant Grappa of Amarone Barricata. This grappa is obtained from the distillation of Amarone pomace, followed by a period of aging in oak barrels, previously used for the aging of Amarone wine.

The result is a grappa with a unique and complex character, retaining the aromatic notes and body of Amarone wine, enriched with spicy and vanilla nuances. This grappa is available in a 700ml format, suitable for distillate lovers who wish to enjoy a high-quality grappa.
