Of all the types of wine produced in Valpolicella today, Amarone della Valpolicella is certainly the best known. It is a recognized and esteemed great Veronese red wine, appreciated not only nationally but also in the rest of the world for its structured and intense character and at the same time soft and elegant, perfectly balanced.

The Campagnola winery, with more than 100 years of history and activity in the wine sector behind it, can today count on the production of four lines of Amarone: Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Giuseppe Campagnola, also produced in the BIO version, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva dedicated to Caterina Zardini, the founder and first generation of the family, and Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Riserva Tenuta di Missoj, the most recent to have been introduced.

The commitment and hard work required for the production of Amarone della Valpolicella starts in the vineyards, in the delicate phases of harvesting, with the careful and meticulous selection of the best bunches, picked by hand and carefully arranged in special plastic boxes, always in a single layer, so that air can circulate better. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they are then left to rest in modern drying lofts for over three months, where, guaranteeing optimal conditions of temperature and ventilation, they will reach the ideal level of drying so that we can then proceed with the production of Amarone.

The grape loses an average of 30 to 40% of its weight with a considerable and progressive concentration of sugars, polyphenols, acidity and colour that make Amarone della Valpolicella a unique wine.

The completion of the production process to obtain Amarone della Valpolicella comes with the ageing phase. Its duration is extremely variable depending on the origin and composition of the wine and leads to an evolution of the colour, aromatic profile, perfume and flavour, as well as the typical bouquet of this inimitable wine. Ageing in wood, which varies from large Slavonian oak barrels to modern French oak barriques, therefore allows us to obtain a wine, Amarone della Valpolicella, with an intense colour and aromas reminiscent of cherries and currants, with notes of chocolate and spices. A very structured wine, full, yet soft, elegant and perfectly balanced, capable of winning you over from the very first sip. An excellent red wine for ageing but which, thanks to its characteristics, can also be appreciated in young age.
